Northern Beaches Jiu-Jitsu – Where to train!

I have spent the last eight years training BJJ Northern Beaches at Langes MMA in Manly. As someone who has grown up on the northern beaches, I respect the welcoming vibe of the club for when I am feeling like a casual BJJ session or the competition classes when I am getting ready to compete. The head instructor Anthony Lange has world-class knowledge and is a World Champion in BJJ himself and has also trained other BJJ world champions. The environment at the club has not only allowed me to get fit and meet a range of like-minded people, but It also gave me a great competitive outlet as I have been able to medal and compete at many Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions all around Australia.

Anthony Lange BJJ lineage is through the Machado Family, with his teacher being John Will who was one of the first non-Brazilians to get a BJJ black belt. Anthony is a registered IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) black belt so you can rest assured he is legit. Machado Jiu-Jitsu lineage is also the same lineage as practised by Joe Rogan, Eddie Bravo and even Chuck Noris! In Recent years Carlos Machado himself has been teaching a yearly seminar at the club along with many other BJJ Legends. But despite an excellent lineage and having wonderful guest instructors the primary deciding factor that has kept me at Langes MMA is the high level of BJJ instruction that teaches their every single day.

In turn, this has developed a very high level of training partners for me to practice with and improve my BJJ skills and fostered a great club culture that welcomes everyone for fun on the mats. If you are on the northern beaches and looking to learn BJJ, then I highly recommend you check out Langes MMA for yourself and see what you think.

Sonny Brown
